I am new here, sorry if someone has already asked the question, but where do I find my download of cctv footage on my iMac? It is for the police, for an incident where someone has crashed into a car and failed to stop. I have so far gone into SwannView LinkDownload and SwannView LinkRecord There is nothing there.

I have also looked on finder to try and locate the file name but there is nothing in the results. I've spent about an hour downloading it, so it must be somewhere. I look a bit stupid with this kit on my house but can't source the footage! Appreciate any help. Hi ne77ed, Welcome to the community!

Swann Adw 200 Software

Mac

Regarding this matter, we have heard of a similar case wherein the Swannview Link software will not download any recordings at all. Our development team is already looking into this but it may take more time before this can get fixed so no estimated time and date we can provide right now. By the way, this is only happening on Mac computers so an alternative solution we can provide you with this is to use a Windows computer to download the recordings or you can do the backup of the recordings you need from the main unit by using a USB flash drive. Thanks James, This is really disappointing, what planet do Swann live on?! There are no PCs in our household and the main unit is locked away in a place not easily accessible for security reasons. Obviously that is my only option here, but really, for a great bit of kit, it's a bit of a let down from the app to its limited functionality on Mac. I mean sometimes it doesn't even work when you want to check on it remotely and download of short clips on mobile devices also doesn't work. That is below shoddy isn't it? Hi ne77ed, While checking what we can do to improve the software, we highly recommend to export the recording to a flash drive ASAP since you said that you need it for the police. Since overwrite feature is enabled by default, if your unit keeps on recording, oldest file will be overwritten and we don't want the file you want to become the oldest file.

May we know the model number of the your recorder to provide you the steps how to export it form the unit? Also, what Mac OS version do you have and SwannView Link version have you installed?

Hi JohnL, Thank you, that would be great if you could provide steps on how to export from the unit. I don't think I have actually seen it myself as my boyfriend bought it and got someone to install it. I don't even know how long footage is kept until it is overwritten, seems to still be playing back ok, but you're right we don't want to overwrite. The person who hit the car came forward, but made up a story blaming someone else and then eventually changed their mind admitting fault. Because they have admitted responsibility, the police have said they don't need the footage immediately, but they would like for us to keep the footage in case the person changes their story once again. Looking under System Information the device is a NVR8-7400.

Mac OS version is 10.13.1 and SwannView Link version is 2.2.7.25 (there doesn't seem to be any options to check for updates), unless I have completely missed this.
